U-20's Champions!

Congratulations to the under 20’s on winning the L&DCC under 20’s.  They triumphed by 4 runs in the semi final over St Helen’s. St Helen’s reply stopped on 121 with Mike Littler claiming 4 victims behind the stumps Mark Worrall and Adam Littler sharing wickets.

The final was reduced to 10 overs with Formby setting Northop Hall 96 to win after good early bowling by Will Higginson and Adam Hodgkins.  Mike Barnes got Northop Hall off to a superb start with 33 in not many balls and it was left for Ali Roberts to strike penultimate ball for 4 to ensure a Northop Hall win!

2nd XI reach the final !!

Many thanks to everyone who came out and supported the 2nd XI in the Chester Cup semi-final on 2nd August against New Brighton.  It was one of the most exciting matches seen at Smithy Lane for many a year with NHCC's best bowling and fielding performance of the season clinching the win by 2 runs with 4 balls to spare.

The final will be played against Bootle on Sunday September 13th, again at home.  More information will be given on this nearer the time, but we hope that you will turn out to support the club in our push for silverware.

I'm looking for someone to take charge of the Junior sections of this site.  That would include entering results of NHCC Junior fixtures as well as obtaining the league tables and standings for the various junior competitions.  If anyone wants to offer their assistance in this respect, please feel free to email me at r.roberts@chestertongrant.co.uk

Northop Hall Cricket Club is situated in Flintshire, near the Wales/England Border, approximately 10 miles west of Chester, and 3 miles from Mold.

A word from our Chairman

Welcome to our website. Northop Hall Cricket Club is one of the North West's premier cricket clubs playing 1st, 2nd and 3rd eleven senior cricket in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition. We also have junior cricket teams that compete in the North Wales area as well as Social teams. With purpose built practice netting facilities and high quality ground conditions and changing rooms, I am sure you would be impressed by our set up.

Tudor Jones
Northop Hall Cricket Club - Chairman

Northop Hall Cricket Club has three Saturday teams a team in the Chester and District Mid-Week league and junior teams at all levels. The Saturday teams all play in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition. The Liverpool competition uses timed cricket rather than limited overs, making for a more tactical game on the positive side, but leading to a number of games being drawn instead of having a clear winner.

The club also fields five men's and two women's hockey teams and has a total membership of around 600 people.

Northop Hall were winners of the Welsh Senior Cup in 1997 and runners up in 2008.

The club hosted several Wales Minor Counties games and was chosen as venue for the Wales MC v Middlesex NatWest clash in 1994. Middlesex captain Mike Gatting commented that 'the pitch is better than Lords' and that 'it was the best ground I have played on for a couple of years.'
